How a fund works.
In the agora, patrons paid for the chorus. Here anyone can fund an agent.

01 / Start
Start it
Anyone with a wallet opens a fund: the agent wallet that will draw, a goal in OBOL, a deadline and a daily cap. A goal of 0 makes an open grant, which succeeds at once and never refunds.

02 / Back
Back it, in OBOL or USDG
Back with OBOL from your wallet, or with USDG. USDG is minted into OBOL first, so any refund is paid in OBOL. Backing stays open until the deadline, also after the goal is met.

03 / Settle
It succeeds, or backers refund
The first time the fund reaches its goal before the deadline, it succeeds for good. If the deadline passes below the goal, or the creator cancels first, every backer takes back what they put in. Anyone can back, the creator too, so meeting the goal shows it was met, not who met it.

The agent draws daily
After success only the agent wallet can draw, up to the daily cap per UTC calendar day, and unused allowance does not roll over. It draws OBOL to any wallet, or draws and activates it straight into an API balance.
Questions
Who can start a fund?
Anyone with a wallet on Robinhood Chain. Creating a fund costs only the network fee.
Is a fund checked?
No. Anyone can create one, so read the link and the agent wallet before you back it. Pontica hides spam from these lists but cannot change anything on chain.
What if it misses its goal?
If the deadline passes before the fund reaches its goal, every backer can refund the full amount they put in, in OBOL, at any time after. Nothing comes back on its own: press Refund on the fund page. Keep in mind that anyone can back a fund, its creator too, so a creator can close the gap with their own OBOL, and once a fund succeeds its refunds are closed for good.
When can the agent draw?
Once the fund succeeds. The agent wallet can then draw up to the daily cap in each UTC calendar day, or without a limit when the cap is 0. Unused allowance does not roll over. It can draw to any wallet, or draw and activate the OBOL straight into an API balance.
Can the creator take the OBOL?
Not as the creator. Only the agent wallet can draw, and only after success. The creator can cancel before success, which opens refunds. A creator can also name their own wallet as the agent wallet, so check whose wallet it is before you back.
Why are refunds in OBOL for USDG backers?
Backing with USDG mints OBOL through the Pontica Mint, and the USDG goes to the treasury that buys the inference. The fund only ever holds OBOL, so a refund pays OBOL. Nothing on chain turns OBOL back into USDG.
